Polar G1 GPS sensor provides speed/pace and distance measurement for outdoor sports, for example running or cycling. The G1 speed range is 0-199km/h / 0-123.6m/h.

Basic information about GPS and Polar GPS sensors

GPS stands for Global Positioning System. Polar G3 and G1 GPS sensors are GPS receivers and they use the GPS (Navstar) system which enables the calculation of an accurate position anywhere on earth based on the special GPS satellite signals. The system is built and managed by U.S. Department of Defence and has free global use. The GPS receiver, like Polar G3 and G1 sensor, calculates its position by measuring the distance between itself and four or more GPS satellites. This enables accurate position measurement of the GPS receiver, and the speed and distance calculation from the different positions of the receiver.

Can You Use Polar G1/G3/G5 GPS Sensor for Tracking Your Route?

Polar G3/G5 GPS sensor measures speed, distance and tracking data. When using G3/G5 with Polar RCX5 / RS800CX / CS600X speed, distance and tracking data is recorded. But when using G3 with Polar RS800 only speed and distance data is recorded. RS800CX and CS600X training computers have additionally an altitude measurement feature to allow you to track the exercise elevation profile and to analyse the results in Polar ProTrainer 5 software.

Polar G1 GPS sensor measures speed and distance data. This sensor is compatible with Polar FT60, FT80 and RS300X training computers.
